A Minute Reflection: Three Wise Monkeys

Posted by Unknown at 08:08 0 comments
I'm certain majority are accustomed to take notice to the Three Wise Monkeys. Each of the three monkeys elucidate contrasting phrases which says:

See No Evil ◆ Speak No Evil ◆ Hear No Evil

In spite of that, Christianity instills the opposite.

A hymn by Clara H. Scott(1841-1897), an ordinary lady who loved God dearly. And who surrendered herself to pursue teaching music in a Ladies Seminary, Lyons, Iowa(1859) states:

Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.

Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.

Open my mouth, and let me bear,
Gladly the warm truth everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.

You may wonder, hence why did the bible instruct us distinctively? Well, God desires that we open our eyes to see His Goodness. Whether it is through His works, or possibly the little blessings we often take for granted. He wants us to open our ears to hear the Word of God. Why? Because from now up to the very end of our life, we are never to be content with our knowledge of Him. We may be content with other things throughout this world, but not with the Word of God living in our hearts. Opening our mouths to preach the Gospel, so that those who are lost will turn back to the Lord.

In Conclusion, the three wise monkeys aren't the wisest after all. Keep in mind to always open our ears to hear God's goodness and Truth, Open our Mouths to spread the Word of God!

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."

Acts 20:24

A Minute Reflection: Epilogue of Praise

Epilogue of Praise
by: Joseph M. Martin

When all the notes of life are played
When all our music fades away
A bright new song the world will sing
In the presence of the King

And when all hearts has been set free
When all our mouths at last know peace
We will lift our song as one
As we bow before the throne

Crying worthy! Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb!

When every river has run dry
When all stars fall from the sky
The love of God will still live on
Like a never ending song!

When all our work on earth is done
When every anthem has been sung
With all the angels ceaseless praise
We will glory in His name

Crying worthy, Worthy is the Lamb.
Worthy is the Lamb!
Worthy is the Lamb.

Reflection:
This song struck me deep. Not only because of the glorious tune, but because of the meaningful lyrics that matched the music. As I reflected the song, I asked myself. What if God took my life away from me tomorrow, the next hour, or even a minute away from now? Am I ready? What have I done that would make me deserve to be saved by the Jesus? Have I brought a lost soul back to Him? No. Do I live the way God wants me to? Definite no. Nearly everyday I commit some kind of sin. Yet Jesus still loves me.

Now, what have I done for the Lord? Praising him through music could be one, but that is certainly not enough. I know I have to strive for something bigger, higher, harder so that many others can see Christ in me and that I may be a witness of Christ through my life. Basically, I have promised myself to not only be the salt and the light of the world, but also to spread His word so that people around me may believe in Him. Hallelujah, Amen.

Simple YET Meaningful.

Posted by Unknown at 05:27 1 comments

" In school, you are taught a lesson, then given a test. While in life, you are given a test, that teaches you a lesson. " - Tom Bodett -

This is the reality of life. Whether you like it or not. Life for me has been great, especially with the unconditional support my parents has given to me economically and spiritually. I realize that no matter what you do in life. You will just learn from something. Even if its something small. It teaches you that next time, you shouldn't repeat the same mistakes. Sometimes I feel that life is throwing hell at me. But I know that in the end, I will be thankful that I made it through and that inner pride is the best joy anyone needs.

Whatever life throws at you, just do what you can, where you are, and with what you have!

Have a great day :)

XOXO,
Joy Budiana <3
